I’ve lived in Cape Town for almost 5 years and I’m amazed at how many marketing messages I still receive from local business in my old hood – Johannesburg – trying to sell me stuff! Not only are most of these messages of absolutely no value to me, they continue to stream in without a momentary ‘reach out’ to ignite my interest or unearth the reason for my lethargy.
